Krysta currently serves as the Community Engagement Manager at Recovery Beyond.
She brings over 10 years of nonprofit experience to Recovery Beyond. A lifelong community advocate, her background includes two years in AmeriCorps VISTA, volunteering in rural Ecuador, and a Master’s in Global Youth Development. She holds training in Motivational Interviewing, Mental Health Facilitation, and Recovery Coaching. In her previous role, she managed teams nationwide in creating supportive spaces for individuals in recovery.
Krysta joined Recovery Beyond as a member in 2022 and credits the organization’s community and goal-setting approach as vital to her long-term recovery. Her adventures include the women’s retreat in Canada, a winter expedition in Minnesota, climbing Mount St. Helens, and training for the Seattle to Portland bike ride. Krysta is passionate about active listening, fostering adventure, and empowering others to discover strength and freedom through recovery.
After living in 9 states and a different country, Krysta is so happy to find her home in Seattle, WA with her husband, daughter, and 2 cats. She loves to hike, bike, kayak, camp, star gaze, touch moss, campfire cook, sing, play music, draw, paint, knit and play games.
